The perfect Apple WWDC that will never happen

By: Marwan, June 2, 2015
With Apple's WWDC less than a week away, I decided to share my views on the perfect conference that'll sadly never happen. I repeat this is a figment of my imagination and it's the inner fanboy in me who wishes for this to become reality so here goes.

Saurik announces Cydia in iOS 9

Apple finally realises it's time to give power users some more flexibility over their device. Tim Cook declares there'll be a surprise guest and up comes onto the stage no other but Saurik. He announces his partnership with Apple. Allowing users to download Cydia through the settings app after many many warnings and cautions on how this voids the warranty and puts your device at risk, of course.

Siri Maintains Its Sense Of Humor By Mocking Google Glass

By: Marwan, August 26, 2013
Chances are you've heard about Google Glass, a wearable computer developed by Google. Lots of people talked and debated about whether the product is good or creepy, and until very recently Siri was quiet. This has changed as Siri now mocks Google Glass when a user says "Okay glass" to Siri.

The update happened quite recently and it's good to see Siri is still funny.

I took the screenshot above to include the funniest responses I could get. If you get any funny responses share them as a comment or share a screenshot.

PLAY: Dumb ways to die on iPhone

By: Marwan, May 27, 2013
You may have seen the video 'Dumb Ways to Die' on YouTube. It's a funny animation that shares some of the dumbest ways someone can die. Today I found that there is a game available on the iPhone. So I downloaded the game, and here's my review of it. Along with the video in case you've missed it.

When you first launch the game you'll find a screen similar to the one below. You'll have only one character at the station, when you reach certain scores you unlock more characters.

You can pay $125 to downgrade to Windows 7

By: Marwan, January 23, 2013
Imagine having to pay money to downgrade to an older OS. And imagine the sum of money you need to pay is $125. Unfortunately this is the case with Windows 8. If you're not willing to pay I have previously posted an article explaining how to do it for free.

I'm not sure whether I should be disappointed or should I just laugh my ass off.

Do Not Disturb feature on iOS 6 glitches the same day that Apple release an ad

By: Marwan, January 2, 2013
Users have reported that with the new year coming in their Do Not Disturb feature, one of the big hits in iOS 6, has caught a bug. Apple usually get something wrong at the start of every year and it was almost always to do with alarms, however Apple's software engineers seemed to have worked so hard to fix the alarms glitch and forgot about Do Not Disturb. I think we should forgive them for it.

Let's get serious though. Some of you might have experienced bugs with DO Not Disturb. I don't even use it so I'm fine, but for those who do here are a few working fixes as well as a bit of discussion follow by an ad released at the wrong time.

What if Apple invented letters

By: Marwan, November 27, 2012
Imagine if Apple was the company that came up with the idea of using letters to communicate with each other? What would they have done? They would let anyone use it of course!

Hilarious videos bully iPad Mini

By: Marwan, November 1, 2012
People don't seem to want to stop making jokes on Apple. It's not just competitors, but some individual comedians who like to do such things. Conan O'Brein made one of the videos where he bullies Apple's iPad Mini. Another 'Banned' iPad Mini Promo does the same thing. Watch both videos below and tell us which one is funnier. In my opinion Conan's video was actually a lot funnier.

Apple post a legal notice about judge's UK ruling that Samsung did not copy iPad's design

By: Marwan, October 26, 2012
And the battle continues

The High court of Justice in UK and Wales ruled on 9th July 2012 that Samsung's tablets do not copy the iPad's design because they're not as cool as the iPad. While this is a good side for Apple that the judge in a way promoted their product and favoured it publicly over competing tablets; the court declared that Apple must post a note on their website admitting that Samsung's tablets did not infringe Apple's patents.

Nevertheless, only Apple could find such a great solution to this problem. Apple quoted the judge's ruling stating that Samsung's tablets did not copy the iPad's design because the iPad was a lot cooler! Below is the text quoted from Apple's website.

Cheer up! Steve Jobs vs Bill Gates Rap Battle [Parody]

By: Marwan, October 22, 2012
I can't stop laughing and hitting the replay button every time I watch this music video. It isn't Bruno Mars' latest album or anything as boring as that, it's something epic. Epic Rap Battles of History made a parody rap battle between Steve Jobs and Bill Gates. Some of the replies are so funny and offensive you have to watch the video to believe it. The video is 4 months old so some of you may have already watched it. I watched it a few months back but saw it today on YouTube and after laughing for ages I said I must share the video on the blog too.

Some of the funniest parts:
After the video so I don't ruin it for you!

Windows 8 might drive users to switch to Mac [Videos]

By: Marwan, October 18, 2012
Windows 8 has a lot of problems. I used to have a couple of its beta stages and spent a lot of my time trying to go back to Windows 7 and thankfully it was possible. The main problem was that the OS looks as if it was made for a tablet and not a keyboard and mouse. This is probably the case and it's disappointing that Microsoft are making it available for computers. Watch the videos below of Windows 8 being used by average customers and tell us if you think Windows 8 could possibly drive people to buying a Mac as a comment. I'm probably switching soon.

More videos after the break.

Apple promoting maps apps on the features tab in App Store

By: Marwan, September 28, 2012
Wow. I've never seen Apple losing badly before, but when they actually did fail they admitted it. And honestly worked towards delivering a better customer experience. The image below says it all.

Made by me :)

Tim Cook's message earlier today wasn't enough for Apple to satisfy their customers. They very recently added an extra section in their featured page that links to a few maps apps they recommend. They also added a sentence on top of this page linking to Google Maps (their competitors!) and Nokia maps web versions and guide users through how to add a shortcut to the home screen.

Samsung's anti-iPhone ad crushed! (Updated with another pic!)

By: Marwan, September 16, 2012
Samsung have released an anti-iPhone 5 ad in which they attempt to show that the iPhone 5 is not good at all and that Samsung S3 already has all the features in iPhone 5 plus a lot more. This ad was proven totally incorrect by another image. I've included both images in this post.

It's really ridiculous for Samsung to even use such an ad to promote their phone. So your phone is better because you listed more of its features and left out the features in iPhone 5 blank? And anyone who sees this ad will certainly know what a feature like ShareShot actually is right? Very persuasive. Below are the spaces for the iPhone 5 section filled in to compete with these found in Galaxy S3. Yes it does seem that Samsung forgot to fill them in.

A couple of Did You Know?'s

By: Marwan, August 6, 2012
Just a couple Did You Know facts that I want to share with you.

  1. Did you know that www.appple.com is not optimized for iPhone? Reason is that one of the great features of the iPhone when it was announced back in 2007 was its ability to view full web pages. So making an iPhone template for Apple's website would be rather a contradiction.
  2. Did you know that Twitter has a higher Google page rank than Google? Seems like the guys at Google totally forgot how their algorithm works.
I found these 2 out myself. Then there's a website with more of these here.

So did you know these facts?

Did Samsung really copy Apple?

By: Marwan, August 4, 2012
As Samsung and Apple are arguing in court about who copied who and if the copying was legal and all these things; I found a picture on a Facebook page that really makes the point of whether Samsung did in fact copy Apple in terms of design. Here it is:

Nothing to say really. The picture speaks for itself. Whose side are you on?

Microsoft surface announcement - wouldn't be a Microsoft keynote without a fail

By: Marwan, June 22, 2012

So with the release of Microsoft Surface, people started talking about if this tablet could become the iPad killer. However, from what I've seen in this video, I know it won't. Microsoft announced the Surface a few days ago and had a presentation and a great announcement done for it. At least that's what it would have been until this part which you will see in the video. Have a great laugh.
