Pee Run- A Must Have App for Cinema Addicts

By: Marwan, August 8, 2014

There are three problems I face when watching a movie in the cinema: arriving late, needing to pee and sharing the armrest with the person sitting next to me. And while Pee Run can't help me take the armrest for myself, it does help solve the first two problems.

Launching Pee Run will show the user a list of the movies available. There is a search bar at the top to help quickly find the movie that you are looking for. When the movie is selected it shows suggested times to take a pee or buy some popcorn. Scenes with little meaning to the story will be suggested, additionally the app will summarize the events that took place during the few minutes you spent in the bathroom.

Another feature is the automated pee timer. This will vibrate the phone when the non-important scene is about to start as an indication that this is a suitable time to leave if you need to.

The feature which I have come to rely on is the Running Late! option. This provides a synopsis of the first few minutes of the movie so being late to the movie isn't too bad anymore.I recently used this feature when watching Draft Day and it helped point out a major event that took place at the start of the movie, if I hadn't had the app then perhaps some of the movie wasn't going to make sense. The Running Late! option is available as an in-app purchase for $0.99.

With more features available such as after-credits information, Pee Run is a must have app for cinema lovers. My complaint is that the app doesn't look nice at all, however it does the job well. It's one of the times when I'm willing to keep a poorly designed app due to it's functionality.

Pee Run is available on the App Store for $0.99. Give it a shot and share your experiences with the app as a comment. My question for this blog post is, have you seen any movie that wouldn't make any sense if you've missed the first few minutes?
