The problem with setting goals and working towards making an activity a habit is that it's very easy to procrastinate them both. We tend to leave things for "tomorrow" and never actually making a start. If you're able to completely achieve your goals without procrastinating then this app isn't for you, but for the majority of people like me, we need something that works.
I've been using an app called Strides for a week now. The app promises that it'll help me achieve my goals. From the app's website:
Sliding upwards lets you edit your goal. Goals are very flexible. As you can see I have Lower Better turned on here since it's better if I swear fewer times per day.
There are four types of goals. The app does a good job explaining what each type is. For blogging I picked a habit of 2 times per week. I then chose to log my progress every week. Hopefully you'll see me blogging more often now.
To top it off, below is a video from the Strides team. This should give you a summary of its features:

Strides is the easiest way to track all your goals and habits in one place, with flexible reminders and beautiful charts to keep you motivated and on track. So I gave Strides a go by testing it with two trackers, the first is doing push ups and the second is to minimize my swearing. Strides features four different types of trackers depending on the activity, more on that later.
One of the things I like about Strides is how with a quick glance I can have a summary of all my goals. It's only 2 goals right now but I'll be adding more soon.
Let's take a look at the goals in detail. If I open up the push ups goal the app will beautifully show me visual data of how well I'm doing. The circle in the middle is really handy as it shows you how close you are to achieving your goal. The graph at the bottom shows the change over time and only shows how close you are to your goal.
It is things like this that make me love using Strides every day to track my goals. With just one look on one screen I can see everything I need about my goal. Additionally, the screen looks different based on the type of goal you choose.
If you swipe downwards on the screen you can add in progress for your current day as well as seeing the value you input for previous days. I'm trying to swear fewer than five times per day and that's going pretty well so far. I love the use of gestures in Strides.
Confession time
I have been quite lazy with blogging recently and want to blog at least twice a week now. So I'll use Strides to help me achieve this goal. (If I don't blog twice a week then you'll know that Strides didn't do its job on me).
Strides offers complete customization and flexibility for your goals. If you take a look at the two screenshots below you'll see what I mean.

If you want a simple way to track your goals and beautiful charts and graphs to visualize your progress then be sure to give Strides a try. Then quit procrastinating.
