1. Images
Images add life to your page. It adds
great value to a site’s appearance. Many designers choose poor images and
that’s the biggest mistake they make. Of course, good and classy images will
cost you a little, but in the long run it will make your site beautiful and
catchy. Add relevant attractive images and don’t compromise over quality. Spend
few bucks and you will see the images work in adding glamour to your site.
2. Font
Selecting font styles for the text on your
site is very important. It gives the user an idea of your professionalism, your
taste and is reflective of the legibility of your website. Use simple and
readable fonts. When you are not sure enough, use the “HELVETICA”, “GEORGIA”,
or “ARIAL”. These three fonts are globally recognized and people are familiar
with these styles. These fonts function on all web browsers and do not require
any coding strategy. Selecting font for website is actually different from choosing
fonts for word documents. There are only few font styles that can be viewed across
the world over web. So choose the simple font style instead of very stylish and
difficult to read fonts.
3. Colors
If you are not familiar with the color
theory, then being very creative while using color combinations and schemes
would not be a good idea. If you are not good at choosing and making color
combinations, then select two neutral or contrasting color schemes most
commonly white and black. Keep your product or brand in mind while choosing
color schemes for the site.
4. Logo
Logo reflects your brand/product/business.
You don’t have to spend thousands of dollars to get a attractive logo for your
site. You would require around 250 US dollars for hiring a logo designer for
you that would design the logo according to your choice and preferences. Keep
your logo as simple as possible so that visitors can memorize it easily. Don’t
design it yourself to save money if you are concerned with the website’s
appearance.
5. Minimalist concept
In the modern world, less is always more.
If your website is overloaded with graphics, and images, the content loses its
value. Avoid pop ups, too much advertisements, social media icons, and
auto-play videos and sound.
Keeping the above tips in mind while
designing your word press website will result in greater number of visitors at
your website.
